Tipps vom Profi

Much to light to be really informative!!!
I just started together with my girlfriend with dslr and this Book from Scott Kelby was the first we bought for this purpose! All other knowledge we have up to this point we pretty much googled up on our selfs!

I must say that even for total beginners who are a bit more ambitious than just shooting vacation-travels this lecture is much too light! I mean my Girlfriend just started reading it and I need to prevent her from throwing the book in to the corner telling her that its not completely useless!! ;) (no kidding)
I mean he really stresses in the introduction that he would save himself the highly technical explanations but finally his written Chapters are not much more informative than their headlines and thats pretty bad for a book of 20$!
The next thing is that he tells you as well in the beginning that he likes to joke (like ironic explanations and false headlines) even if he thinks its not funny and he is right!!!! he really isn't!! So I would have much preferred if would have kept his bad jokes for himself but properly he needed to fill the pages with something!
Now my words sound pretty harsh and its sounds like I didn't learn anything from it, that isn't the case! I just think the stuff he tries to teach you, don't deserve a whole book! It would have been better placed in a column in his Photoshop Magazine! And their is my bottom line: He should keep on teaching Photoshop which he does really really well (there I can even bare bad jokes) and keep the fingers of teaching Photography! (Autor/in)

Ultra simple but useful
Set aside his lame sense of humour, he discusses lots (from how to photograph flowers to wildlife to weddings) of subjects, without many details. You can find all his recommendations elsewhere on the internet, although not in one place (I suspect though if you photograph wildlife, you won't have much interest in weddings and the other way around). However, his advice is useful and it's a great starting point.Simple and quick, it's ideal if you're just starting out with photography. I would recommend this ONLY if you're really a beginner with a vague idea of basics. (Autor/in)

(Autor/in)

(Autor/in)
